About Virginia Sargent
Calm confidence. Steady presence. Birth support that feels like you.
Birth changes everything — not just your family, but how you see yourself.
You deserve someone by your side who helps you feel grounded in the unknown, confident in your body, and supported in every decision along the way.
That’s what I offer as your doula: Holistic, evidence-based care that honors both the science and the soul of birth.

Meet Virginia
Attorney turned birth doula.
I became a birth doula shortly after welcoming my daughter in 2021. Her arrival opened a whole new part of my heart, even as it tested my body and mind.
In those tender newborn days, I kept reflecting on the patience, presence, and full attention our doula gave us during labor — care that continued to shape my sense of safety and strength long after birth. The same was true when our son was born in 2024.
Those experiences inspired me to become a doula myself — to offer the same steady, grounding support that meant so much to us to other families. I pressed pause on my career as an attorney to follow my newfound passion.
Outside of birthwork, I live in Longmont with my husband and our two children on our regenerative farm, Longroots Ranch.

My Approach
Birth isn't about following a plan — it’s about feeling seen, safe, and empowered in your own story.
My work blends:
-
Information and intuition — pairing education with emotional steadiness.
-
Warmth and professionalism — calm and capable care.
-
Advocacy and partnership — ensuring you and your partner both feel confident, informed, and connected.
You’ll have someone in your corner — not to take over, but to hold space and help you navigate with clarity and calm.
"My goal for this pregnancy and birth was to go as long as I could unmedicated. I don't think I would have been able to accomplish that goal and go fully unmedicated without Virginia's guidance and support. Her calming demeanor and ease during an intense time helped my husband and I immensely in bringing our second baby into this world. I am so appreciative of her support." - Jaqueline
Why I Do This Work

I became a doula because I’ve seen how transformative it can be when families feel emotionally held and medically informed at the same time.
Too often, birth is something that happens to people — rushed, clinical, or shaped by fear. My goal is to help families reclaim birth as something they actively experience: safe, empowered, and deeply personal.
My clients often tell me they felt like they could finally exhale once I arrived. I aim to bring peace to an intense moment, helping you stay centered in your choices and your connection.
I’m especially committed to inclusive care that respects every identity, family structure, and cultural background.
